From a day to a month: Better hearing, better learning.
Description:
This initiative will be delivered throughout the month of March and will include a set of community-based health education and prevention actions developed in partnership with multiple institutions and local stakeholders, including schools, universities, and health services. The overall purpose is to increase public awareness, promote healthy behaviors, and facilitate access to reliable information through approachable, inclusive, and evidence-informed communication.
Outreach will be carried out through short “pit-stop” activities in high-visibility settings and at partner institutions. These pit-stops will provide brief guidance on hearing health, answer questions from the public, and direct participants to additional resources and services when needed. Activities will be designed to be accessible to diverse audiences and will use clear language, practical examples, and respectful interaction.
As part of the campaign, small awareness ribbons will be distributed as a symbolic reminder of key messages. The ribbons will include short printed phrases encouraging hearing care and prevention, helping to reinforce information beyond the moment of contact. Distribution will take place in different community contexts, such as traffic-light intersections, school environments, and university campuses, aiming to reach people in their daily routines and encourage continued engagement with hearing health.
A citywide digital communication strategy will complement face-to-face actions. Campaign messages will be displayed on a digital panel in the city and circulated through totems and television screens located in public spaces, including hospital waiting rooms and other health service areas. This component will expand reach, reinforce key messages, and ensure that information is visible in places where individuals and families often seek health-related guidance.
Across all components, the initiative will prioritize accuracy, clarity, and responsible communication. Messages will focus on education, prevention, and pathways to support, while encouraging community participation and collaboration among institutions. The combined approach—integrating direct outreach with digital dissemination—aims to maximize visibility, strengthen public understanding, and contribute to sustained, community-level hearing health promotion.
