Ciedm walk among oaks and fruit trees @ Arcadia Ecohome Microforest
Description:
As in past years we nature lovers at CIEDM and backyard growers are scheduled a nature walk on May 12 in the Arcadia Ecohome Microforest, with a focus on a number of fruit trees in the backyard food forest and three mature coast live oak trees, a protected plant species in California and the key hosts for pollinators that are vital for fruit tree production. As part of our citizen science engagements at the Ecohome, we’ll engage science-based Bioblitz observations, image and sound recordings of wildlife at fruit trees and old-growth trees including those oaks, conditions of the surrounding habitat for harboring pollinators, and inhabitants hosted by them, and share the information on public platforms. This local event represents CIEDM’s grassroots’ supports and taking part in the global celebrations of both the International Day of Plant Health and Endangered Species Day 2026, to be observed on May 12 and 15.
