Organization: Macquarie University Hearing
Project title: World Hearing Day 2025 Celebration
Primary region: WPR
Country: Australia
Event Description:
World Hearing Day 2025 will take place on the grounds of Macquarie University’s Australian Hearing Hub, featuring an opening ceremony led by the NSW Governor General, introduced by the Vice Chancellor. The event welcomes the local community, campus staff, students, community groups, and hearing sector professionals. Activities include two panel discussions: the first with individuals who have age-related hearing loss, and the second with experienced advocates discussing hearing support systems and inclusion in Australia. Attendees will have the chance to have their hearing screened and consult with audiologists about any concerns. Researchers will also have an opportunity to engage with attendees about their work. Numerous community groups representing individuals with lived experiences will be in attendance to foster dialogue. Additionally, a social luncheon will provide an opportunity for networking and informal conversations, allowing participants to connect and share insights on hearing health and support services.
