Our initiative contributes to strengthening political will and buy-in for the implementation of timely prevention of hearing loss among populations at risk at the community level, and increase community awareness, support for, demand, and utilization of ENT care among key stakeholders. We will bring together public health officials and policymakers to engage in a consultative policy dialogue session on the status of implementation and enforcement of national guidelines on noise reduction and prevention of hearing loss risk factors among at-risk persons; Conduct an informative and interactive awareness raising session with pregnant persons on aspects of hearing loss risk factors and its prevention to their unborn babies; Develop campaign products that include brochures, banner and T-shirts that ensures suitability, content appropriateness and relevance using 2 main languages (English and Kiswahili) plus “Sheng” – a popular slang targeting young pregnant mothers; and Disseminate the products through public awareness-raising on social media.
