Sports has a unique power to unite people from all walks of life and through this event, we aim to leverage on this power as a tool to raise awareness about ear and hearing care and empower individuals to take action.
The event will be held at a local playground in Katanga, a populous slum community, strategically located near a national referral hospital. It will bring together diverse stakeholders, including the public, parents, policymakers, medical teams, special education teachers, student nurses and doctors, and like-minded organizations.
Activities will include sports, health education, screenings and advocacy for ear and hearing care. A special session will feature the health committee of the Ugandan Parliament, to discuss integrating ear and hearing care into national policy and budgeting frameworks.
We believe this event will foster community engagement and raise awareness, providing a platform for education and action on ear and hearing health for all.
