Event Description:

The event, “Hearing Safety and Care for Rig Workers in the Niger Delta Region: Protect, Prevent, Thrive!” aims to raise awareness about hearing protection and care among rig workers.
It will feature an interactive workshop and expert presentations on noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), ear protection best practices, and the importance of regular ear care and hearing check-ups. The event will also include a demonstration of protective ear gear, providing workers with practical tools for hearing protection. Additionally, 50 earplugs and informational materials on hearing care will be distributed, and an ear health specialist will be available to answer questions and offer advice.

The event targets rig workers, policy makers, and industry stakeholders, addressing gaps in hearing protection and advocating for stronger national policies on hearing safety in the oil and gas sector. The goal is to empower workers with the knowledge and resources to protect their hearing in high-noise environments.
