Association des Jeunes pour le Developpement Inclusif-RDC is The Association of Young People with Intellectual Disabilities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (AJDI-RDC) will host a special event in Goma to commemorate World Hearing Day. The event will focus on raising awareness about hearing health and its impact on youth with intellectual disabilities, a group particularly vulnerable to undiagnosed hearing issues. Activities will include free hearing screenings, interactive workshops on ear care, and presentations by healthcare professionals to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and intervention. Families, caregivers, and community stakeholders will be invited to engage in discussions about inclusive healthcare strategies for this population. Through this initiative, AJDI-RDC aims to highlight the intersection of intellectual disabilities and hearing health, advocating for accessible services and greater community support. This event underscores the need for an inclusive approach to address the challenges faced by youth with intellectual disabilities in the DRC.
