Friends of Arthur Foundation Uganda will host a community event on March 3, 2025, in Katabi Town Council to mark World Hearing Day 2025. The event will feature a public seminar led by ear and hearing care professionals to raise awareness about hearing loss prevention, early detection, and management. Personal stories from individuals with hearing disabilities will be shared to reduce stigma and inspire mindset changes. Free hearing screenings will be offered to at least 100 individuals, with referrals provided for follow-up care. WHO-approved awareness materials, translated into Luganda, will be distributed, and the hearWHO app will be demonstrated to promote self-assessments. A radio talk show will amplify outreach efforts, engaging policymakers and community leaders to advocate for inclusive hearing care. The event will culminate in a call to action, empowering attendees to champion hearing health in their communities.
