Project title: Changing Mindsets for Inclusive Hearing Care in Bangladesh
Primary region: SEAR
Country: Bangladesh
Event Description:
Overview
Over 14 million people in Bangladesh face hearing loss, yet stigma and lack of awareness remain significant challenges. SDSL aims to align with World Hearing Day 2025’s theme, “Changing Mindsets,” to advocate for inclusive ear and hearing care.
Activities
• Awareness campaigns like public procession-rally with WHO materials
• Public advocacy events with sign language interpreters.
• Social media campaigns (Hearing For All).
• Workshop for policymakers on hearing care policy gaps.
• Free hearing check-up camps.
Expected Outcomes
• Reach 20,000+ via media, distribute 10,000 materials, screen 300 individuals, and engage 10 policymakers to implement people-centered ear and hearing care, promoting awareness, safe listening, research, and integration into primary healthcare to ensure an inclusive future.
By accessing the grant, we hope to aware policymakers and social community leaders to ensure that we are able to build capacity to support some of our most vulnerable students.
