Organization: Universidade de Sorocaba – UNISO
Project title: Carnival block
Primary region: AMR
Country: Brazil
Event Description:
The Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology course at the University of Sorocaba presents a unique project for World Hearing Day: a carnival block in the city’s official parade. Called “Bloco Foliões da Audição: Cuidados auditivos para todos na folia e na vida!”, the group carries the message about the proposed theme for 2025, reinforcing awareness about hearing health. All participants will wear earplugs. The block will be composed of organized groups of Speech Therapy students, members of the university board, students’ families and the institution’s senior citizens group. The abadá (custom carnival shirt), designed by the Fashion Design course, and the block’s music, composed by the Speech Therapy students themselves, will be inspired by the theme of World Hearing Day. The Music course will lead the drums, ensuring the energy of the party. During the parade, earplugs will be distributed to the public, along with the World Hearing Day message.
