Event Description:

Hearing Horizons aims to address ear and hearing care needs in the vibrant community of Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. The event will include awareness workshops on ear health and prevention, free hearing screenings, and distribution of ear care kits, along with demonstrations of affordable hearing aids. Drawing from local traditions, cultural activities like songs, and storytelling will engage residents, making the message of hearing care more relatable. Youth volunteers, trained as “Hearing Champions,” will lead school & community outreach, fostering awareness at the grassroots level.

In collaboration with policymakers, the event will feature advocacy sessions and roundtable discussions, highlighting gaps in hearing care and presenting actionable strategies. Policymakers will witness the tangible benefits of hearing care through real-life stories and evidence-based presentations, encouraging them to consider prioritizing hearing health in local programs. The initiative aims to expand access and create systemic change in Naharlagun.
