Outline of the event:
In order to adhere to the Hearing Day 2023 guidelines established by the WHO, Vision Care Hearing Solution will organise an awareness campaign for the primary health care sector as well as the general public. Consequently, five locations around Sri Lanka were chosen for the programme: Colombo, Maharagama, Galle, Negombo, and Kurunegala. The ENT specialists working in each of these locations agreed to assist in its implementation. With the assistance of ENT doctors, a programme called “Ear and Hearing Care for All” will be conducted on March 3, 2023. The primary audience for this event will consist of primary healthcare providers, preschool teachers, and special education instructors. A public awareness effort and a free ENT consultation programme will be organised simultaneously in each place on that day. In addition, the Vision Care branch network will offer the public around the island free hearing screenings.
