Title: Making World Hearing day 2023 a reality event
Description: AIISH commemorated World hearing day 2023 in a big way in India over a span of one month to raise awareness on significance of ear and hearing health care. Some of the key activities included:
1.A one-day national workshop on ‘Strategies to implement universal newborn hearing (UHS) program in India’ having expert Audiologists, ENTs, Pediatricians, OBGs, and administrators, to develop action plan to implement UHS in India.
2. Thirty-two hearing screening camps were conducted and the needy were given free hearing aids. More than 2500 persons benefitted from it.
3.Awareness was also created through orientation, radio talks, newspaper, live phone-in, Walkathons, interviews in TV and YouTube channels, Club-house, jingles in Community radios, distributing 0.25 million pamphlets to schools, video-bytes from well-known celebrities, medical doctors, spiritual leaders & politicians.
Through these efforts, AIISH reached more than 10 million people of the country directly and raised awareness about ear and hearing health.
