Outline of the event:
The HI-GENES Africa Project as part of its community and public engagement activities, has developed a resource guide that provide hearing impaired and hard of hearing individual (s), families and the public with basic information and contact details of different organizations, schools, and other facilities that offers supportive and assistive services to the Deaf community in Ghana.
To mark the celebration of the ‘World Hearing Day’ on 3rd March 2023, the team will lunch the resource pack and distribute copies to schools for the deaf across Ghana and publish the resource pack on the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), University of Ghana website. The event will cover official lunch and making copies available to the public, targeted communities, groups and key stakeholders, and associations, aiding sensitization and information on contacts, location and access to available supportive resources, qualified clinical hearing examination/assessment and rehabilitation.
