Title:Neonatal hearing screening at Surat: A cross-sectional study to decrease rate of hearing and speech loss in children and spread awareness
Objective: To carry out Neonatal Hearing Screening throughout the year and to aware parents and society in order to decrease Hearing and speech loss in children
Methodology:
1. Coordination with all the Maternity hospital and Children hospitals of SURAT to ensure neonatal hearing of all newborn before discharge from the hospital.
2. Neonatal hearing screening by OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions) test and auditory brainstem response (ABR) test.
3. Awareness program for parents and general public to save hearing.

Expected Outcome and Benefit to the society: Our study will add information to centralized data of the country about neonatal hearing loss rate in SURAT and will help the Government to make policies to reduce hearing and speech loss in children thus to rehabilitate them timely.
