Raising Awareness about Hearing Loss and Hearing Care – 2024.

n an effort to raise awareness about hearing health, educate the population, and promote the inclusion of individuals with hearing loss, deafness, and particularly those benefiting from cochlear implants, wecarried out an awareness campaign in Montevideo. The objective was not only to inform about the importance of ear care but also to highlight the realities, benefits, and challenges of cochlear implants within the community.
We focused on transmitting information about the needs of individuals with hearing disabilities, especially those who do not use sign language.
We decorated the iconic Montevideo sign located on the Rambla, depicting diversity and importance of hearing health. We held an event at the sign celebrating World Hearing Day with cochlear implant users, families, press, general public. The sign is one of the most visited tourists sports in Montevideo.
There were articles in different newspapers in Uruguay, reports for TV channels and radio programmes.
