The “Ear and Hearing Care for All – 2024” program, hosted by the Department of Disability Studies, University of Kelaniya, celebrated World Hearing Day (WHD) with a variety of activities. The week-long event began with a street drama aimed at dispelling myths about hearing loss. On March 3rd, WHD, a hearing screening program was conducted for individuals from the local community. Informative posters were displayed at the screening site to raise awareness about hearing care. Concurrently, a social media-based e-poster competition for adults was held with the theme “Safeguard Your Hearing,” while a social media art competition for young adults over 15 years explored the theme “Hearing Care.” To fund these activities, the program sold key tags featuring the WHD theme.
