Title: Wiki4WorldHearingDay2023

Description:

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in coordination with the Office of Ear and Hearing Care, World Health Organization developed the online event Wiki4WorldHearingDay2023 to facilitate the improvement of Wikipedia content related to hearing, hearing health services, hearing testing, preventive and treatment interventions. The platform (translated into 7 languages) provided guidance and invited anyone with access to a computer and the internet to join the campaign. Additional training was provided by request. Content was added in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Chinese. Tracking of contributions took place between November 17, 2022 and March 31, 2023. At the conclusion of the campaign, 288 articles were edited, 50 new articles were created, 140 media files were uploaded to the open access repository WikiCommons, and more that 248 references were added. The totality of these contributions was seen by 8.9 million visitors in the 4-month period of the online campaign.
