Title: World Hearing Day 2023 by HearMi Ghana
Description: The event was precede by health education on prevention of hearing loss and the need to make ear and hearing health a primary health service priority on social media, local radio stations and Avenor TV in Akatsi. We also visited St. Theresa Vocational Training Center, Abor Ghana and screened students and staff for hearing. 0n the eventful day of 3rd March, 2023, HearMi Ghana team led by its founder William Hodzi visited the Volta Star Textiles Limited, Juapong Volta Region – Ghana. We conducted otoscopy and audiology (hearing) screening for staff. We educated them on the need to protect their sense of hearing with ear muffs and ear plugs while working in noisy environment. The acting Managing Director of the company Mr. Jerome K. Dunyo was grateful for our gesture. We called on government to enroll ear and hearing health onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.
