Title: Orelha e cuidado auditivo para todos!
Description: The action took place from 8-11 am with patients from the Hospital da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo who were in the waiting rooms of the Ambulatório do Conde de Lara by students of 2nd year of the Fonoaudiologia course at the FCMSCSP.
During a month of the discipline couse “Development of Hearing Skills” students prepared themselves for the campaign through theoretical classes, a dense study on the WHO guidelines and a mental map on the subject. In this action, students were able to talk to around 800 patients in the waiting rooms, questioning them about ear discomforts — including pain, tinnitus and secretions — and guiding them on what to do to improve their health hearing loss, in addition to reinforcing the importance of going to the doctor, the campaign helps patients understand to seek care through the Unified Health System (SUS), especially for a possible diagnosis.
