Organization: Premier 101 Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Center

Region: Philippines

Title: KISAP – VALENZUELA (KONTRA INGAY SA ATING PABRIKA – VALENZUELA CITY)

Description:

Working adults exposed to industrial noise in Valenzuela City (the industrial factory capital of the Philippines) will receive a hearing conservation program that this project will complement, strengthen, and monitor. Daichi Metal Products Corporation served as the pilot factory or center as a celebration of World Hearing Day 2023. As our ultimate goal is to conduct a prevalence study of industrial noise-induced hearing loss in the Philippines, this is an excellent starter program. We provided education, free hearing screening, and training about the risks associated with industrial noise exposure. Affected workers were also provided hearing protection devices, such as earplugs and earmuffs. Lastly, the project will regularly monitor the working environment to ensure that the hearing conservation program is effective.
