Ear Examination at Pondok Ramadhan

Description:

The Social Affairs Office of East Java Province (Dinsos Jatim) is organizing a dedicated Pondok Ramadhan program designed specifically for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to fostering spiritual inclusivity and providing equal access to religious education for all citizens.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 7, in the Injoko area during the afternoon. It will bring together 150 participants from the deaf community for a series of meaningful activities, including spiritual reflections and communal sharing, tailored to their specific communication needs. By creating a supportive and accessible environment, this program aims to deepen the participants’ faith and strengthen the sense of community during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Impactful Story:

For many in the deaf community, participating in traditional religious gatherings can often feel like being a spectator in a world of sound. The Pondok Ramadhan initiative, organized by the Social Affairs Office of East Java (Dinsos Jatim) at Injoko on March 7, 2026, aimed to change that narrative.

By bringing together 150 participants from the hearing-impaired community, the event moved beyond a simple gathering—it became a platform for true spiritual accessibility. Through the use of sign language interpreters and visual-based religious storytelling, the “silence” was replaced with a vibrant exchange of faith and connection.
