Description:

in recognition of world hearing day, the department of audiology & speech-language pathology, at shanghai jiao tong university is organizing a dedicated outreach program focused on safeguarding the auditory health of children. this program aims to serve students from both kindergarten and junior high school, combining essential hearing screenings with engaging, age-appropriate educational activities.
this activity seeks to instill a foundational understanding of hearing health and the critical importance of early intervention for children. through interactive popular science lectures and fun, instructive games, we will introduce children to the basic concepts of how hearing works, common threats to auditory health, and the vital role of timely detection and care, helping them cultivate healthy habits that will preserve their hearing throughout their lives.
ultimately, this endeavor strives to foster a collaborative, tripartite early-intervention community that integrates healthcare, school, and damily. by strengthening the bonds between medical professionals, educational institutions, and households, we can establish a robust, united front for childhood hearing preservation. this program is not merely a single-day event but a proactive step towards building a sustainable ecosystem of awareness and support, ensuring a healthier auditory future for every child involved.
we are committed to making hearing health accessible, understandable, and engaging for our young participants, laying a solid foundation for lifelong well-being through prevention, education, and community synergy.
