Local government leadership in action lead with youth: accelerating ear and hearing care for every child through education and policy convergence

Description:

Convergence Partnership for Inclusive Ear and Hearing Care

The Convergence Partnership event, co-organized by the Peer Support at the Equitable National Alliance on Integrated Care for Sensory Impairments and Rehabilitation Across the Life Course, represents a groundbreaking initiative that bridges local action with national and global advocacy. At its heart, the event is co-led by young people who are actively shaping education and hearing health policy, ensuring that youth voices are not only heard but trusted in decision-making spaces.

At its core, the activity aims to accelerate the implementation of ear and hearing care initiatives through shared commitment and creative convergence. The vision is clear: to establish a national and sub-national school-based ear and hearing care program that makes hearing care for every child a reality.
This means embedding best practices into community systems, ensuring dignity and equity, and strengthening both education and healthcare systems.
