In conjunction with WHO’s World Hearing Day and our central activity for that day, we are also celebrating in Australia: National Hearing Awareness Week – March 1st – 7th. To support this we’ve created some key social media moments and activations that are designed to increase awareness and promote engagement with our d/Deaf community members.

Impactful Story:
Deafness Forum Australia will foster Workforce Pathways & Auslan Qualifications. A campaign supporting awareness of learning Auslan to wider is planned for April. Recognising a first step is learning finger spelling National Hearing Awareness Week enables space to launch ‘Finger Spelling Challenge’.
Our 5 000+ community of Facebook & new Instagram will feature: #signmynamedfa as the signpost to guiding user generated content populating these channels as well, it allows us to build community via Instagram in time for the Auslan campaign to support the campaign promotion and launch.
