Deafness Forum Social Media Activity: D/Deaf friendly playlist
Description:
As part of our activities for World Hearing Day/National Hearing Awareness Week – March 1st – 7th we are leveraging activities within our social media communities to support and raise awareness around inclusivity and consideration for d/Deaf requirements.
Continuing our social media plans: we will feature posts that speak to ‘inclusivity in classrooms’ and ‘d/Deaf Friendly playlist’
Primary site: WPR – Australia
Region: WPR
Impactful Story:
We will part of week to dedicate to ‘In The Classroom’ (Thursday) & ‘d/Deaf Friendly Playlist’ (Friday) in National Hearing Awareness Week to highlight the ways in which we can support those with hearing loss to feel more included and to encourage access to mediums such as music that might be otherwise out of reach.
The In the Classroom activity is sourced from member organisation: Parents of Deaf Children and cites their advice for supporting children with hearing loss in classrooms.
The Playlist option is something that will appeal to older children & adults universally.
