NYU Langone Plan: This year, the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity in collaboration with the Department of Otolaryngology is joining this global initiative to conduct some of the WHO recommended activities marking the day. Activity I: Community conversations Activity II : Hearing Loss Screening for Children Activity III: Hearing Loss Awareness from the Pulpit.
On February 29, 2024rd, 2023, from 2:00-3:00pm, the program will host a virtual conversation with different stakeholders.Participants will include members of houses of worship, community based organizations, government agencies, staff and faculty.
The conversation will be led by Dr J. Thomas Roland, Jr.
On March 1st 2024, the Center for Family Life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn will host a free hearing loss screening for children.
On March 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 2024, 8 Houses of Worship will promote hearing loss awareness from the pulpit using talking points provided to them during their worship services.
