Outline of the event:
We are planning to celebrate the World Hearing day 2024 by conducting education activities at community level, screening for the deafness, conducting surgical camps, distributing the educative material to the public, training the paramedical staff in identifying the diseases related to hearing and refer to an appropriate specialist. The main aim of our event is to carry the message to the public in creating the awareness about the effects of noise in producing deafness and educating about the preventive methods in development of hearing loss. By screening for hearing we are planning to identify the school children suffering from preventable deafness which can be achieved by early intervention. By training the paramedical staff in identification of the diseases related to middle ear diseases in school going children the future development of deafness can be averted .In addition the genetic causes of hearing can be averted by screening.
