Doctor of Audiology (AuD) graduate students in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at Purdue University have organized free community hearing screenings on Friday, March 1, 2024 to promote World Hearing Day (WHD). Clinical Associate Professor, Anne Sommer, AuD challenged students to brainstorm activities allowing them to share their growing knowledge from the SLHS 570 Hearing Conservation course. The AuD students organized a variety of hearing loss prevention education activities using the World Hearing Day 2024 resources. Students created and distributed approximately 75World Hearing Day logo reusable badges along with 200 pairs of Final Fit Safety BioSoft Plant-Based earplugs during the hearing screening event.
