Outline of the event:
Women in Business Development Inc. (WIBDI) in an inclusive NGO in Samoa known for employing people who are deaf. To celebrate World Hearing Day on 3 March 2024, WIBDI is partnering with Apia Protestant Church and Samoa’s Deaf community to deliver a WHD live-streamed service dedicated to changing mindsets about deafness. Pastor Nuuausala Siutaia will deliver a special WHD sermon. A person who is deaf will talk about what it is like to be deaf and how best to communicate with a person who is deaf. WIBDI’s sign language interpreter will teach the congregation some words in sign language, and let them know about ear and hearing services in Samoa. Outside, there will be a WIBDI booth with a WHD banner as well as WHD t’shirts and information about ear and hearing services in Samoa. The congregation will the end the celebration by sharing a WHD2024 decorated cake.
