Outline of the event:
We will be hosting a World Hearing Day event at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where we will be offering information about hearing health in two ways:
– FREE onsite hearing screenings with a hearing loss support specialist. This includes a discussion of results, and next steps for the individual to help them feel empowered to make their own decisions about their hearing health. Hearing screenings must be booked in advance, and an online form will be created.
– An informational booth in a central location at the university, staffed by hearing loss support specialists. Here, we will promote the importance of ear and hearing care, and raise awareness about the impact of hearing loss in Canada.
