Outline of the event:
The “Ear and Hearing Care for All – 2024” event, organized by the Department of Disability Studies, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, celebrates World Hearing Day (WHD) through various activities. Commencing with a street drama highlighting the myths surrounding hearing loss in the week preceding WHD, the event proceeds on March 3rd with a hearing screening program targeting individuals with hearing difficulties in the local community. Simultaneously, an E-poster competition and an Art competition are held to promote awareness of this year’s WHD theme, “Ear and Hearing Care for All.” Additionally, a social media campaign is launched to amplify our message globally. Furthermore, we intend to sell World Hearing Day badges, utilizing designs from WHD campaign materials, to financially support all our activities.
