Held under the theme of “From Silence to Sound: Making Hearing Possible-Cochlear Implant Camp” the camp welcomed people of all ages.
What unfolded was more than just a screening camp — it was a day of changing mindsets, breaking myths, and opening ears to more than just sound.
As the screenings progressed, several individuals were identified with various degrees of hearing loss.
Each identified individual, along with their caregivers, was counselled by professionals about their condition and intervention options. These sessions included empathetic discussions about hearing aids, cochlear implants, medical treatment options, and importance of early intervention and speech therapy.
