Title: Hearing Week Spain
Alternate tite:
Hearing week Spain
Description:
From 25 February to 3 March 2025, Federación AICE celebrated Hearing Week, a campaign to promote the importance of hearing health and accessibility. This initiative started on International Cochlear Implant Day (25 February) and came to an end on World Hearing Day (3 March).
– Illumination: Federación AICE has promoted the illumination in red of emblematic monuments throughout Spain, monuments or facades such as the Cibeles in Madrid, the City Council of Ibiza or the Roman Bridge in Ourense collaborated in this initiative, as well as 20 other cities.
– Material distribution: The campaign included the distribution of informational posters in cities like León, Murcia, A Coruña, and Gijón, as well as in over 20 other municipalities. These materials, shared in collaboration with local governments and organizations, aimed to educate the public about hearing loss and the importance of timely intervention.
– Small performaces on the street: to reach a higher audience in small towns.
– Messages in public transport: The campaign also featured awareness messages through transport companies, including advertising spots with Mobility ADO in Vigo, TUSSAM buses in Seville, and both metro and bus networks in Valencia, among others.
– Information stands have also been set up to raise awareness about hearing health in several cities in Spain, such as Santander and Seville. These stands served as direct contact points with citizens, providing guidance, answering questions, and encouraging people to take care of their hearing health.
– All these activities have been reported on social media, press, radios and even 1 national and 2 regional tv stations.
Hearing Week Spain stimation reached nearly 3.000 persons directly face to face and more than 1 milion people indirectly with our messages in press, social media, in posters, banners and public displays.

Impactful Story:
We had a public demostration with dancers with and without cochlear implants in a small town.
The public was asking about “that device” on some of the dancers were wearing.
One of the little girls in the audiece started to explain that they were deaf but were wearing cochlear implants thanks to a surgery and it was unpolite to talk about persons with hearing loss, specially because they could hear their comments. It seems during Hearing Week, one of our other groups went to her school to explain Safe Listening & Hearing Loss. She became the “Embassador” for Hearing Week.
