Event Description:
Hearing New Zealand’s events and campaigns for WHD extend throughout 2022 as we aim to make the World Report on Hearing 2021 real. Hearing New Zealand provided information and resources to around 1.5 million New Zealanders through multiple events and campaigns. We used old and new ways to connect, including outreach, social media, media, webinars, new resources, extended programmes, and held meetings with Government and political parties and policymakers.
We promoted and provided access to free hearing screening throughout the country and provided 4800 free pairs of hearing protection.

What Additional Materials Would Be Helpful:
Timely access to the media package and other WHO information prior to the release date so we could tailor and target audiences better and from a more knowledgeable understanding of the new WHO products. It was difficult to gain media attention without access to the products to pitch them.
