Title: Screening of hospital staff for hearing dissability and provide hearing care advise
Description: University Hospital KDU (UH KDU) conducted a hearing screening program for the health care workers at UH KDU. We were able to screen more than 90 heath staff and were able to identify some of the hearing related issues with them and referred them for further investigations and treatments. At the same time we conducted a awareness program for the heath staff, inward patients and visitors to the hospital on hearing care.
Further, we made some posters related to hearing care and displayed them in the hospital communication system. We used the posters designed by the WHO on this regards and displayed them too. Consultant ENT surgeon attached to UH KDU, Dr Vasanthika S Thuduvage participated few television programs and wrote news paper articles on hearing care and able to get public attention on world hearing day.
