Title: World Hearing Day Celebration
Description: World Hearing Day was celebrated at DY Patil Hospital, Kolhapur by all the healthcare personnel viz- ENT surgeons, pediatricians, gynecologists, general practitioners, audiologists and nurses. Posters imparting meaningful messages based on WHO guidelines, prepared by medical students in Marathi were displayed in the hospital lobby & OPD for general public. Enlightening lectures were delivered by ENT faculty & audiologist focusing on this year’s theme with Emphasis on Aural Toilet. Civil surgeon of Rural Hospital, Kolhapur and Medical Officer ESIC Hospital, Kolhapur were the Chief guest of the function. Everyone also witnessed a successful result of one the first cochlear implant surgery patient Chinmayee perated at the age of 18 months in 2021. By interacting with her and faculties, all were convinced about the importance of early intervention in children and also hearing care for all.
