Title: Ear and Hearing Care for All: “Let’s Be Innovative” Outreach

Description:

For the World Hearing Day (WHD) 2023, by the Auditory and Vestibular Translational Research Cluster (AVTNC) and the Eisdell Moore Centre (EMC) jointly organized public outreach events on 2nd and 3rd of March, 2023. The aim of outreach was to raise awareness about the importance of hearing care with focus on the use of technologies and innovative approaches that may enable “ear and hearing care for all” in the future. This wa s in person events at local high school in New Zealand and on the University of Auckland campus with high school students, teachers, university students and staff as the main audience. The outreach activities included displays of WHD infographics and our own outreach materials as posters (both days), Scientific display (microscope, noise level meter, ear models), fundraising for the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the engaging “Be Innovative challenge” activities.
