Title: ‘Ear and Hearing Care for all’

Description:

Pratibandhi Kalyan Kendra observed World Hearing Day 2023 through a series of events between January-March
1. We reached around 800 people through local events, health camps and a 16 days’ long awareness campaign – poster displays, leaflet distribution and primary audiological screenings.
2. Conducted training programmes with 42 teachers in two secondary schools.
3. Organised 3 training and orientation sessions for grassroots health professionals of Primary Health Centres, block hospitals, Municipal Corporations on integrating hearing care within primary care. We received participation of 45 doctors, 189 frontline health workers, local government representatives, medical officers, etc.
4. Screening and diagnostic assessments of 300 children, adolescents and elderly have been conducted in our clinical set-up.
5. Arranged free hearing aids for 6 poor children in collaboration with SONOVA.
6. Conducted a seminar on 3rd March with 50 audiologists, ENT doctors, Special Educators, parents of deaf children and other community members.
