Region: SEAR
Impactful Story:
Mrs. Siti, a 68-year-old participant, had experienced gradual hearing difficulties for months but believed it was a normal part of aging. She often asked others to repeat themselves and began avoiding social gatherings. During the Komda PGPKT Kabupaten Gunungkidul World Hearing Day community service event, a hearing screening identified impacted cerumen as the cause of her reduced hearing. After undergoing on-site cerumen extraction, she immediately noticed clearer hearing. She also received education on proper ear care and regular check-ups. Following the event, she regained confidence, rejoined community activities, and encouraged others to seek early ear examinations.
