Hearing week in Castilla-La Mancha
Description:
From 25 February to 3 March 2026, Federación AICE celebrated Hearing Week, a campaign to promote the importance of hearing health and accessibility. This initiative started on International Cochlear Implant Day (25 February) and came to an end on World Hearing Day (3 March).
AICCLAM has promoted the illumination in red of emblematic monuments throughout Castilla la Mancha, such as the Albacete Town Hall with the illumination of several of its buildings, the Guadalajara Town Hall or the Mangana Tower in Cuenca.
Information stand was also set up at the General University Hospital of Albacete, where professionals and volunteers provided resources and answered questions about hearing loss.
One of the most notable activities was a solidarity race organised running in favour of the visibility of cochlear implant and the importance of hearing health. The event gathered participants who ran to show their support for hearing health awareness and to promote greater visibility and understanding of the cochlear implant within society. The race created a sense of community and solidarity, turning sport into a vehicle for inclusion and social impact.
