Public awareness program and MBBS quiz on World Hearing Day

Description:

World Hearing Day was observed by Department of ENT & HNS at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College on 2nd March , 2026. Public awareness programme was organized in the OPD premises for patients. There were awareness talks by the Director Dr. MK Garg ,
Prof. Uma Garg , Prof. Rajesh Garg from PSM and Prof. Ashish Marwah from Paediatrics.
The public was told about Hearing , defects in Hearing and its impact on quality of life, how to suspect Hearing loss in children , how to access the medical personnel for diagnosis and management as early as possible . Emphasis was to share knowledge to all present there for early diagnosis and treatment of the children who are having hearing loss and to prevent in those cases where it can be prevented because 60% of Hearing loss in children is preventable. It was followed by an Undergraduate Quiz (for MBBS students) on Ear and Hearing .
All were encouraged to be stakeholders in the theme – “from communities to classrooms-Hearing care for every child.”
