The Department of ENT at Tagore Medical College & Hospital, Chennai, commemorated **World Hearing Day on 3 March 2026** in alignment with the theme **“From Communities to classrooms: Hearing Care for All Children.”** The programme was organized to raise awareness about hearing health and the importance of early detection and prevention of hearing loss in children, supporting the global initiative of the World Health Organization.
The event included an academic session and a **Guest Lecture by Dr. A. Senthil Vadivu, Registrar, Tamil Nadu Medical Council**, who emphasized the need for community and school-based hearing screening programs. Faculty members and medical students actively participated in the programme.
A key highlight was the **Poster Competition for undergraduate students**, which encouraged creative expression and awareness on topics such as prevention of hearing loss, early identification, and safe listening practices in children. The posters were evaluated by faculty, and winners were recognized during the **prize distribution ceremony**, promoting student engagement in hearing health advocacy.
A school camp was organized on 4th,March 2026 at Casagrand International School, Chennai including students from 4 to 10th standard to rise awareness regarding common causes of hearing loss and its early detection and preventive measures among children.
