World Hearing Day celebrations

This year, Department of ASLP, NISH broadened the ‘World Hearing Day’ concept into a fortnight of celebrations encompassing a variety of educational and interactive activities to spread awareness about the importance of hearing health all aligned to the theme ‘ From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children.’
Activities Conducted
1.Hearing Screening Camp:
The camp was conducted at Anganwadi (Pre-school) to screen for possible hearing loss considering the devastating consequences of untreated hearing loss in preschoolers.
2.Educational Webinars
A session on common causes of hearing loss, preventive measures as well as rehabilitation of hearing loss was conducted for Angnawadi (Pre-school) teachers.
3.Awareness Campaign:
In association with Akkulam Tourist Village, a public awareness campaign was conducted which included awareness talks, distribution of informational brochures, games and exhibition of posters / models on hearing health.
4.Social media campaign were undertaken on various social media platforms.
5.Awareness talk on pediatric hearing loss was also conducted via All India Radio which was aired on March 3 at 12.40PM
