World Hearing Day

Description:

in commemoration of world hearing day, celebrated on march 3rd, a structured action to promote hearing health in the workplace was developed, aligned with the principles of the hearing conservation program (pca 4s).
the initiative aimed to raise workers’ awareness of the importance of hearing preservation, as well as reinforce preventive measures related to occupational noise exposure and lifestyle habits that impact hearing health.
development of the action
the action was planned with an educational, preventive, and strategic approach, encompassing the following pillars:
-hearing health education
guidance was provided to workers, addressing:
risks of occupational noise exposure
importance of the correct use of personal protective equipment (ppe)
healthy habits related to hearing (use of headphones, ear hygiene, among others)
-behavioral training and reinforcement
the action included reinforcing good practices related to hearing protection, focusing on adherence to the proper use of ppe and awareness of its effectiveness as a control measure.

-engagement strategies
to broaden the reach of information, interactive strategies were used, including:
provision of accessible educational materials via qr code
visual communication with clear and objective language
encouragement of active worker participation
-integration with the 4s hearing conservation program
the action was structured in an integrated way with the hearing conservation program, directly contributing to the following pillars:
health: promotion of preventive habits and self-care
safety: reinforcement of hearing protection measures
seriousness: evidence-based technical approach
sustainability: strengthening the culture of prevention

the illustrative material with qr codes was developed so that each worker could take the information to their family and friends, thus reaching a larger number of people.
