Safe hearing for all children: From communities to classrooms
Description:
This online advocacy event is organized by the Miva Health and Safety Club at Miva Open University in commemoration of World Hearing Day 2026. The session aims to raise awareness among university students, parents, and educators about preventable childhood hearing loss and the importance of early identification and care for children with ear or hearing problems. Participants will learn about unsafe listening habits, noise exposure, and common warning signs of hearing damage in children, as well as practical steps for prevention. The event will include a concise educational presentation, interactive polls, and a call to action encouraging participants to advocate for hearing care in schools and communities, in alignment with the World Health Organization’s 2026 theme: “From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children.”
