National Ear Care Day activities 2026
Description:
To mark World Hearing Day, China has rolled out a series of coordinated National Ear Care Day activities with unified national guidance. This year witnesses the 27th National Ear Care Day Public Education Campaign, organized nationwide by six government authorities under the theme Universal Scientific Ear Care for Better Hearing Health.
On the evening of March 2, the flagship National Ear Care Day Public Welfare Concert took place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Co-hosted by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation(CDPF) and relevant ministries and organized by our center, the concert was performed by the China National Symphony Orchestra, with a special guest performance by a choir of children with hearing impairment, which received wide acclaim from the audience. Nearly 1,800 people from all sectors of the capital attended the event. This event was attended by relevant leaders of China Disabled Persons’ Federation as well as responsible officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Health Commission and other relevant ministries.
Alongside the flagship concert, a full set of public-facing hearing health initiatives has been delivered nationwide, including 10 sessions of the Hearing Health Lecture Hall for the general public, development and nationwide distribution of public education materials, promotion of ear care knowledge via social media, and provision of professional hearing services at the community level.
To enhance public participation in hearing health literacy promotion, our center launched an open call for popular science works on ear care and hearing health. Honorary certificates will be presented to creators of the selected outstanding entries in recognition of their contributions.
Led by our center’s Science Popularization Team, original educational materials have been developed around four core themes: hearing health, speech rehabilitation, cutting-edge technology, and relevant policies. In cooperation with the Assistive Technology Exhibition Center, we have produced and distributed 10 episodes of popular science content to introduce advanced hearing technologies and assistive devices to the public.

Impactful Story:
Xiao Ming had been wearing a cochlear implant for a year but had shown no signs of speech development when he was 4.5 years old. His mother was deeply concerned and even worried that he might have autism. Shortly after trying the MMR (Mismach response, a component of event related potentials) Precision Speech and Auditory Training, the boy began to produce some words. One year later, he was able to initiate conversations with others. Now, the child is in fourth grade. Recently, he broadcast news and weather forecasts for his classmates, and all the other students could understand him clearly.
