Webinar: Thinking outside the ear
Description:
This event, entitled, Hearing Health: Thinking Outside the Ear, provides an overview of how the hearing works, how hearing damage from noise exposure occurs, and reviews the other health effects related to hearing loss and noise exposure. The goal is to heighten awareness of the power of good hearing health and to focus attention on preventing occupational noise-induced hearing loss. A podium presentation is by Laurie Wells, Au.D., to the 3M Global Technical Forum. This group consists of 3M employees with technical, occupational health and safety, and engineering backgrounds. It is a hybrid event, with the presentation delivered remotely, however an in-person, onsite activity celebrates World Hearing Day by having participants write their favorite sound on post-it notes and stick it to a poster of a giant ear.
