Description:
For the second consecutive year, Amman Hearing Center in Benghazi, Libya partnered with the Benghazi Girl Guides Commission to mark World Hearing Day 2026 by hosting an event titled “Scout Healthy Ears.” The initiative included otoscopic ear examinations, hearing screenings, and an educational session on hearing protection for the “Zahrat” members of Scout Group No. 17, aged 8 to 12 years.
Primary site: EMR – Libya
Region: EMR
Impactful Story:
During the World Hearing Day 2026 activities, a 9-year-old girl participated in a hearing screening at the “Scout Healthy Ears” event organized by Amman Hearing Center in Benghazi. The screening detected mild hearing loss in one ear that had not been previously diagnosed, and she was referred for further evaluation and management.
Early identification helped prevent potential learning difficulties, and her family received guidance on hearing protection, demonstrating the positive impact of World Hearing Day activities on children’s lives.
