Description:

As the WHO theme for World Hearing Day for 2026 is ” From communities to classrooms: Hearing care for every child” we are conducting 2 events and awareness programs in two schools in our locality . The programs includes awareness talks for children regarding hearing health , talks for teachers on how to detect hearing loss early and regarding the relevance of World hearing day . Besides this a creative talent event in the form of poster competition will be conducted for students from class 1 to 8 and prizes will be distributed on the occasion of world hearing day. A hearing screening event will also be conducted for the children using clinical ear examination , tuning fork tests and audiometry . Those children who require further evaluation for surgical intervention or rehabilitation will be given referal to our centre.

Department of Head & Neck surgery SGPGI done an awareness campaign in 2 schools,poster competition and hearing screening and special assembly for class1-8 for prevention of hearing loss and early diagnosis and awareness.School teachers and students were educated regarding diagnosis of early hearing loss and winners of posters were felicitated with certificates and gold medals.
